The city administration has moved to acquire the .nyc TLD - its like .com and .org but just for New Yorkers. And it has created a .NYC Advisory Board to help fashion an insightful development plan. We need digital public spaces to help the public engage and run our city. Digital rights advocate free zone

Establish city-wide protections for white hat hackers who highlight bugs and/or deliver previously privatized government data back into the public domain.

 

Some forms of hacking should not be illegal. The burden of proof on prosecutors should be that the public good has been hurt when government data is being dealt with.
